In 1973, Thomas Crow founded a small golf club company, naming it Cobra Golf. Two years later, Crow invented the Cobra Baffler, which was the first ever utility wood, and with its soleplate design it allowed you to extract shots from the rough with ease. In 1979, Cobra introduced the first extended length driver, and at 46 inches(seems relatively short by today’s standards doesn’t it?) it was the longest driver on the market by far. In 1991, Cobra Golf signed Greg Norman to an endorsement contract, and the very next year used its newfound exposure to introduce the first full set of oversized irons. Tiger Woods then used a Cobra driver in his historic 1997 Masters win, and the company’s exposure was at an all-time high.
Since then, Cobra Golf has continued to introduce top-of-the-line products to players of all skill levels, and has seen some nice exposure from being an Acushnet brand (owner’s of Titleist Golf and FootJoy Golf). The Cobra S2 Driver and the Cobra ZL Zero Limits driver are good examples of today’s technology helping golfers of all skill levels lower their scores. The Cobra S2 Max Irons are also an excellent example of this technology, and the Cobra Baffler TWS hybrid is the latest version of the Cobra Baffler that has now been popular for over twenty-five years. Cobra Golf has always been a solid example of a fun, hip, game-changing brand that can work for any golfer. Give Cobra a try, your scores will thank you.
