The year was 1963, JFK was President, Arnold
Palmer had some new competition each week with a young golfer named Jack
Nicklaus, and my dad, Oscar Austad, started the first Golf catalog in
America from our home. It truly was a family business. Mom would type up the
catalog, us kids would put labels on them, and everyone helped pick orders
when they came in. People thought my dad was crazy for starting a golf
catalog. After all, up until that time, you had to go to a Pro shop to be
custom fitted. There was definitely a demand for good quality golf equipment
at fair prices because Austad's exploded with growth. Today, we operate 11
retail stores all in the upper Midwest, we continue to mail the catalog out
just as dad did over 40 years ago, and we have an ever-changing web site. We
also continue to have the service that made my dad so successful. "Bend over

life." I think dad's business motto is still true today, but don't take my

for the customer". That commitment still stands today. If any product from
Austad's has a manufacturing defect, we will promptly repair it or replace
it.
Austad's Playability Guarantee
What good is a new club if it doesn't improve your game? If you are not
satisfied with your club purchase for any reason within 30 days of purchase,
return it to us for an exchange or store credit, less a 20% restocking fee
(remember this restocking fee only applies to club purchases and only if you
have used the club). You can most certainly return any item in new condition
and receive a full refund.
Austad's Low Price Guarantee
We know you have lots of places to shop for your golf equipment, and we
don't think you should pay a premium for all the great service you get from
Austad's. We will match any price from an authorized online national
competitor (listed on a manufacturer’s website as an authorized dealer) on
an identical, in-stock item or we will refund the difference within 15 days
of your purchase.

A word of caution here, there are lots of folks on the web with different
prices. Some could be used, some even counterfeit (a big problem in golf).

WARRANTIES AND RETURNS
Austad's stands behind every item we sell. We are committed to having
satisfied customers that not only can't wait to shop again but go out and
tell their friends about Austad's . That's why we offer a 100% MONEY BACK
GUARANTEE. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase for
any reason, return the product to us within 30 days in new condition and
receive a refund, exchange, or store credit. Remember that only items in new
condition can be returned for a refund (except for clubs that fall under our
30 day playability policy, see above for details). Refunds will be issued in
the same payment method as tendered for the purchase price of the item(s)
returned excluding delivery. That is, if you pay by credit card, the refund
will be issued to that credit card.
If you should need to return an item, contact Austad's by email or phone.
Except in the case of defects, return shipping charges are your
responsibility. We recommend that you insure the item when shipping. All
items returned must be in like new condition and will be inspected prior to
credit being issued.
CLOSEOUTS, CUSTOM ORDERS, DEMO ITEMS, PERSONALIZED ITEMS, and USED SHOES are
not returnable. Shoes that have been simply tried on and returned in new
condition are returnable, but shoes worn outside cannot be returned (we
suggest you try them on indoors first, we have no way to resell used shoes).
SPECIAL ORDER items that are not regular in stock items are also not
returnable.
Please Note: All sales are subject to availability of product from the
respective manufacturer and/or vendor.
INTERNATIONAL RETURNS
The customer is responsible for any additional duty, taxes, brokerage fees
and insurance fees that may be assessed for returned items shipped
internationally. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer for
warranty replacements. The customer is also responsible for any duty, tax or
brokerage fees and insurance for replacements. Closeouts, custom orders or
demo items are not returnable either domestically or internationally.
SPECIAL ORDERS
When something is purchased as a "Special Order", it can mean one of several
things:
1. It could mean that it is not a normally stocked item and it will be
ordered on your behalf.
2. It could mean that it is a normally stocked item but Austad's is
temporarily out of stock or the item is back-ordered from the manufacturer.
3. It could mean that it is a new item that Austad's anticipates arriving in
the warehouse soon. If you order an item that is listed "Special Order"
please allow two to four weeks for delivery.
Special orders are excluded from all promotions. Shipping costs apply to all
special orders and vary depending upon the item. We will contact you via
phone or email with the actual shipping costs on any special order.
